Chermiti The Agent

By: Rami | June 29th, 2009 | 33 Comments »

Modeling wasn’t enough of a side gig for our striker apparently because according to Amine Chermiti, his club (and more specifically his coach Lucien Favre) is interested in quite a number of Tunisian players. The list reportedly includes Aymen Balbouli, Youssef Msakni, Ammar Jemal, and Oussemma Darragi.

Here’s what he said word for word after naming the players, if the words were in English that is: “The next weeks will tell us a lot more about the intentions of my club.” Hmm how enlightening… We’ll keep a look out I guess? (I will of course)

If Chermiti did in fact say this in an interview with Assabah (you can never tell these days…) then what does it mean? Answer: Not that much really… So why am I writing about it? Answer: To tell you about it, duh!

For real though, the news isn’t really earth shattering but its news nevertheless. Coaches and teams in Europe follow a lot of players (most of which they never end of up signing) and Hertha is no different. Apparently they’ve identified some of the best ones we have playing in our domestic league.

It’s hard for one to hide their disappointment when we were rather ... [read]

Chikhaoui Operated On… Again

By: Rami | June 16th, 2009 | 25 Comments »

Wish I didn’t have to write this but weeks ago I read on a Tunisian newspaper (I believe Assabah Edit: It was Assahafa) that there was a chance Yassine Chikhaoui wasn’t completely recovered from his injury and that his comeback was being hampered by continuing pain in his knee.
I was concerned and ... [read]

So we won the match and actually looked quite decent when Darragi finally came on but the real question on everyone’s mind is why didn’t Coelho put him in from the start?
Consider this a place to drop your thought following the encounter. I have some commitments to attend to and will ... [read]

Bad news this morning as it was revealed the Issam Jemaa’s injury was worse than expected. His left knee is hurt (always the knee!) and he will be unable to take part in both the game against Mozambique and the one against Nigeria.

Tunisia 4-0 Sudan: Post Match Thoughts

By: Rami | May 28th, 2009 | 9 Comments »

I still haven’t seen the match but from what I’ve read it seems we did what we had to and the team looked good in the first half but then the level of play went down after we took the solid lead into halftime. I’ll refrain from analysis until I’ve actually seen ... [read]

Tomorrow we face Sudan in a warm up for our June 6th World Cup qualifiers versus Mozambique. This match was meant to serve as a dress rehearsal of sorts but the way it was programmed didn’t allow for our the majority of our European based players to be called up.
Instead we’ve been ... [read]
