Youssef Mouihbi’s Philosophical Outlook
I’m not going to dwell on this too much since some people may think I’m giving too much attention to Youssef Mouihbi’s injury merely because he is a CA player but I wanted to share the video below because it is reassuring to see this talented player in high spirits after such a devastating blow to his season. There has been an outpouring of support from all parts of Tunisia regardless of region and club affiliations.
His morale is high and anyone that has ever suffered a serious injury requiring a long time away from the field will tell you that the mental aspect is the most difficult to cope with. His return will depend upon some factors that are out of his control but there is no doubt that Youssef’s positive attitude will give him the best chance to come back to full fitness as soon as possible.
Coelho has this to say: “It’s really unfortunate. This player was part of my plans. I hope he recovers quickly and returns to both his club and the Tunisian National Team.” Besides the well wishing, the words that resonate with me are “this player was part of my plans.” It shows you that Coelho sees Mouihbi playing a pivotal role in the future and being a permanent fixture in the starting lineup. He started in both games Coelho has coached thus far…
Video of Mouihbi Injury and Aftermath
Funny moment here is when Aymen Rhifi is joking that his injury, a big gash he sustained in the same match when his face made contact with a defenders cleat (ouch), is going to take longer to heal than Mouihbi’s ACL tear. Keep smiling Youssef, we’re waiting for you.
