Yassine Chikhaoui is off the Market!
Not the transfer market silly! He’s still a target for Juventus, Arsenal, Ajax, Bayern, Lyon and many others. What I’m trying to say is he’s no longer a bachelor and Swiss/Tunisian WAGS to be will have to focus their attention on other single footie stars as Yassine Chikhaoui just tied the knot with his girfriend Ines. This news is slightly dated as the wedding happened on Sunday but I’ve been traveling and thus was unable to post regarding this. I don’t want to delve too deeply into the guy’s personal life (although simply by posting perhaps I already have) but on behalf of myself and the readers of the Tunisia WCB I would like to say Mabrouk Yassine and wish you all the best in your married life. Real Madrid coach Bernd Shuster has been quoted as saying that he prefers to recruit players who are married as they are usually more stable and disciplined (as in less likely to party into the wee hours of the morning while surrounded by vino, women, and general debauchery like Robinho and company). Still, I don’t think this cements him as a Real Madrid target quite yet! If you want to see some more pictures from the wedding, infosfoot is more than happy to oblige!
Back to football though. As I noted in the last post, the FC Zurich president is quoted as saying that Zurich fans and the rest of the Swiss public will get to enjoy having Chikhaoui in their sole posession for another six months. So I guess he is kind of off that market too (for now at least)? However, with the African Cup less than a month away, Chikhaoui is sure to make more people take notice of his talents and start readying their checkbooks. I don’t know how long Zurich can hold out but I admire their desire to keep him. This has truly been a steal for them in terms of recruiting and they should be credited for their glorious find. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if an offer too enticing to refuse comes along before this year is over. We’ll have to wait to find out. For now, we wish Yassine happiness in his marriage and success in his career. The key for him will be to find a high caliber club where he can impose himself with his technique and become a permanent fixture in the starting eleven. Sure he might have to fight for his spot depending on the situation but a talent like his cannot be ignored and certainly should not be secluded to the sidelines. Chikhaoui has proven in previous interviews (and even his decision to join Zurich instead of Marseille or Rennes) that he is meticulously planning his career and I expect a great decision from him when the time comes to sign a new contract for a different employer. For now he is in Tunis training with the national team and his mission is to bring back that trophy with him from Ghana… or at least give it his best shot and raise his value further in the process.

He can enjoy some good old home cooking as he trains for the African Nations cup. I think for the swiss league they are on break until feb 2nd. So the African cup doesnt effect them as much as the English premier league for instance.
By the way i read somewhere Zurich bought Chikhaoui for the sum of 400,000 Euros. Now the investment is about to really pay off.
By Etoile standard that is decent cash, they won i think 1 million by winning African champions league and i think another 2 million for placing 4th in the world club cup( correct me if i am wrong on any of these numbers). They are generating some decent cash. Hopefully they do not sell anyone else like Chermiti so cheaply. But for the year they are banking as well as ever.
