Tunisia Playing to Win Against Guinea
With a spot in the quarterfinals of the African Nations Cup wrapped up, Tunisia can afford to take it easy against Guniea on Monday. But coach Roger Lemerre says that ain’t going to be the case.
“We will play to win. We are happy here and we want to stay here for the knockout stages,” Lemerre told reporters.
The here in this case is Alexandria, which is where Tunisia will play again if it wins. A loss against Guinea and the Carthage Eagles will have to travel to the less desirable Port Said.
“We like the environment here and we are all very determined to win this match,” added defender Radhi Jaidi.
With all due respects to the thousands in Port Said reading this blog, I would heartily agree that Alexandria is the nicer of the two locales. Good food, good people and hopefully another good win for Tunisia tomorrow.
