Tunisia is out but blogging is alive

I hope you all enjoyed watching Tunisia play. I examined the expresions and body language of the players closely and I realize that they all gave it 100 percent. Each player put on the field used the best of their skill and did what they do best. And in the end, one is happy when they realise that the players did their best, they fought very hard.

Fundamentaly however there is a flaw in the coaching of the team. When Tunisia plays many African teams they attack like crazy and score many goals every game. Whether or not Santos is playing someone should be taking the 2nd striker position. I mean if you have 2 strikers, you keep the other teams defense busy so that they can do all out attacks. Also this is the world cup, you need goals and you need to play to win. Tunisia went every game with a 4-5-1, please someone help me out and name some teams in the the round of 16 who run 4-5-1 formations. I mean 4-5-1 is fine but in todays maytch for instance you need to win, which means you need to score so i would have started with 2 players at least up front. Lemerre was way too cautious. Santos came in for 10 minutes and in those 10 minutes has 2 chances. I wish he could have played from the begining, him and Jaziri play very well together.

Yes there were bad calls. handball on Tunisias free kick uncalled. and Shevchecnko tripped over himself and a pen was given. However was Tunisia ever going to score? where they ever going to mount a sustained attack? Were they ever going to play to win.

Only the fearless African teams make it to the round of 16 and beyond. Only the once that throw caution to the wind. Imagine boxing and saying ok im just going to block and pary all the punches but im not going to punch unless the other guy isnt looking. I would rather throw punches. Cameroon in 1990 and senegal in 2002 were down right brave as hell and they attacked the other teams like crazy. At least their defenders didnt get exhausted like Tunisias because they defended so much.

This my friends is the begining of my frustrations. The whole cautious mentality of the Tunisian strategy must change. Goals get you wins. and if you mark goals you can concede them as well. I may seem harsh to some readers but in the coming days let us discuss how the Tunisian team can change and reform so that in the next for years they will not be underdogs in every game and so that when we watch on TV the announcers are not surprised when the players show a bit of quality whoch a true player knows they had all along. Im sorry fans of Tunisia, the team will get better in the future that is a certainity. Thank you for your comments, kind words and support, and opinions. Let us continue to enjoy the rest of this beautiful tournament.

I would like to continue to post until the end of the world cup. Please return to this page and enjoy the rest of the tournament.

I suuggest: 1 -Lemerre out ( and not only him…, He had carte blanche ,may be, but why on the first place did we give it to him ?(!)
2-the lauching of a big campain ;) to find some fresh tunisian excellent players, they must be somewhere - I wanna believe they are some undiscovered “genies” in the tunisian football(and selected then it s an other story) on the next team , ideally Jaziri (one of the very few we would keep on the new fresh team) would have 4 others collegues able to help and and/or replace him)
In all this post generation 80 they must be somewhere;)(and some ?!!) Good is not enough in this kind of context. We have to start soon, the CAN is arriving and 4 years will be short to change all a mentality .
They have to be fearless as Ghana and trust their own potential, because the worse is that they would have win …they wouldn t have been far in the competition probably , as i predict for Ukrainia, but they could at least make some progress and pass the first round.
I still believe in Tunisian football, i still think that referal has been a problem on this world cup, but that s the point too, the future tunisian team wouldn t let this type of guy ruin a match, they would duplicate their talent, believe they can win just go to the goal and mark ;)

Hard to believe Tunisia hasn’t won a match in the world cup competition since it defeated Mexico 3-1 in it’s opener in Argentina in 1978, ( believe me I still tease the Mexicans here in the USA about that win) sadly they are now teasing me for our ins and outs of all our appearances at the world cup.
Tunisia needs to return to the basics and abandon it’s football politics, we are an extremely talented and educated nation, we do not need a foreigner to manage our football affairs, there are many Chattalis in our midst.
Let’s search our hearts and souls and make us proud, remember every win for such a small country touches the world in it’s entirety at this cherished event.
I love you Tunisia no matter what, see you in 2010 for a better outcome, God willing.

Thank you Mohamed, that says it all

The key match was against the saoudis, Tunisia was doing fine untill Lemerre took out BooAzizi,
2nd match Tunisia holding spain with great discipline, ayari was excellent. what does Lemerre do, take ayari and Bouazizi out, the structurecollapses.
I think this misadventure is largely attributable to Lemerre’s overly cautious attitude. Versus Ukrain , more attckers were needed, take chance for god sake, either score and make it through or go hoem even defeated, at lerast you would have useed up smartly all your options. it seems as though Lemerre is always saving some for later, however ther isn’t any to spare, we re not Brazil…
ofcourse if you add to all this an imaginary penalty and a disregarded very real penalty, well then there isn’t much we can do.
I was overall pleased with the players, some are actually pretty talented. They were not at their physical apex, and that my friends is a timing issue, agian a coacing issue. Les bleus did what they had to for a reason. May Lemerre have some deep psychological fears, that stop him from being attuned to the positive enrgy arond him, his too rigid, he unstill paralysing attitued into the players, he is used to tegimented not creative environment in the military career he has had. ok that’s my lille freudien addition…

I agree with you 100%, I was in Tunisia and to my surprise I found a talented and well adjusted people compare to many other countries. you don’t need a French man to lead you, you were occupied by the french long enough! I really wish Tunisia would one day win that sacred cup, wouldn’t that be smething. and could anyone tell me from what country is the referee who officiated the last game against Ukraine? he robbed you blind! and does anyone of you agree that they should have the instant replay in some cases like the penaly?
