Yeah Rami..Ben Hatira is still eligible to play for Tunisia until he reaches 21 (July of 09). So if there is a time for the FTF to approach him, it is probably now more than ever, otherwise we're gonna "loose" another talented youngster. Unfortunately, Germany nowadays plays a very ethnically diverse squad, and it seems like they got over the German-pride thing that haunted them for years. So Tunisia is probably his second choice as of now, the only way he'll pick us is if he feels he can't play for Germany because he's simply not good enough, which I really doubt. It's gonna take a huge effort from him to pick Tunisia, however it is a very simple decision to pick Germany. Tough fact to accept unfortunately.
I hope you're right about Felhi, Rami..why not maybe someday he'll be a great defender. I don't think he will be better than let's say Jaidi. If he can play someday for a mid-table French or German team, it will be alrady way more than what I expected him to become. Don't accuse me of pessimism, because I am trying to be very realistic about Tunisian football. We are still struggling to win a game in the World Cup, how can we even think of our players joining European Clubs that loose 3 or 4 times a year? Yes we play a good football but we still have a lot to learn before talking about Bayern, Real, Barca, Milan, United etc...maybe Chikhaoui can someday open the door for us to this VIP club :)

I wish Juve was gonna play Real Madrid, I guess they're not 'coz that would have been a crazy game..yeah and that goal was offside Rami, but it's Juve man..we always find a way to win..FORZA JUVE :)

Houssem, thanks for the input on Asante Kotoko. Looking forward to seeing your blog up soon! I knew about Eric Bekoe from Abby's Hertha blog...

Achraf, as Momo said, the Chermiti situation has finally been resolved. I updated the post near the bottom just a second ago. I'll have an article on this tomorrow at the latest.

Its too bad about Sami Khedira but my philosophy on internationals is that they should play for the country that they really feel is their country. If in his heart Germany is where he wants to play then more power to him. I'll still follow him knowing that he has some Tunisian in him as well. That's cool you got to see that game Momo. Is Ben Hatira still eligible to start playing with us? And you're right, Felhi isn't Bayern material... yet. He has great potential though. Also, he did start a lot of games in the African cup. Too bad they stuck him out on the right side rather than in the center of defense where he belongs. One day I can see him and Haggui manning the middle together. For now I prefer a Ghzel and Haggui backline.

I saw some of the Arsenal Juventus game today. Nasri looks like he's fitting in pretty well (I only saw 25 mins). That goal Trezeguet scored was way offside though. Looking forward to Real Madrid vs. Arsenal. Should be a treat.

wow that's crazy! Felhi to Bayern? I would not believe that will happen even if Bayern themselves claim to be interested in him..I don't even think he can be a starter with the national team let alone join the so-called "FC Hollywood"..haha who are these newspapers trying to fool??? I also read today that Berradhia had an offer from PSG in France and might join them during the winter transfer..well that's a bit wishful but it's still more realistic than the Bayern thing..Rami there are reports saying Chermiti finally signed with Hertha..it seems like this will be a loan deal though at 1.5 million euros a year for 2 seasons. Hopefully this is the end of it. By the way I got to watch Hamburg against Real Madrid in a friendly today, and the young German-Tunisian Anis Ben Hatira played some 25 or 30 minutes. He didn't score or anything but I was very impressed by him, he seems to be a very talented player..I just hope he picks Tunisia and don't make the stupid mistake Sami Khedira made.

I marked august 14th on my calender, because I am really looking forward to that press conference about the friendly roster. Man, if Felhi and berradia get offers from germany and france that will be great. Also Driss needs to let go of Chermiti and get over it and add another big player like he did when chikhaoui left and he brought Chermiti.

Asante Kotoko are in my opinion a force to be reckoned with. They're Ghana's most successful team, and I guess a few will remember their decent 2006 CAF Champions League campaign, having reached the group stage and given quite a hard time to the finalists (Al Ahly and the Club Sportif Sfaxien). Their striker Eric Bekoe is being tested at Herta. Étoile and CSS are meeting old acquaintances then, like JS Kabylie (I'm particulary looking forward to that one ), and Al Merrikh, last year's finalists. We'll see about that in two weeks.

actually their coach said that they will be taking advantage of the fact that nobody knows anything about them. although it is their first time in the group stages, they can beat anyone here in alexandria.anyway, they will bring me a long awaited egyptia-tunisian derby, but i wanted them to play with etoile to see how will the egyptian fans react.you know what i mean!!!!?????

You're right I did overlook them. Have to say that I don't know much about them so to me personally they belong in the same category as Asante Kotoko. I just don't know enough to have an opinion. Doesn't mean that they aren't good but thanks for putting me in my place :) No disrespect intended. I mean if they're truly "Haras el Houdoud" then I bet they have some fight in them :P Glad you're still around Tamim... Africa is full of surprises anyways. Who would have thought Etoile would be playing in this competition in the first place?
