THOUGHTS ON THE TEAM SELCTED

May 15th, 2006 | By: Bessam | 1 Comment »

Lets Cover this from the Bottom to the top.

Goalkeepers: I know Ali Boumnijel will be starting though he is 40, he still performs well. In the African Nations Cup penalty shootout with Nigeria, he saved alot of goals. Ther other goalies I dont know much about yet pleas let us all know what you think of them.

Defenders: I feel like this is a really strong Group of Players. If you have from right to left. Trabelsi, Jemalli, Jaidi, and one more quick player on the left, it will be a great group. I know Haggui is a very tall and physical defender as well. I would like to know more about Yahia, El Ayari, and the new player Meryah

Midfielders: Am I wrong to say this is our weakest part of the team?

Bouazizi is a good physical player and He was a hero during the African Nations cup. He has been captain of the team in the past if im not mistaken. Nafti is also a great player , He plays for Birmingham in the premier league in England and he is just recovering from injury, His coach said Nafti has been working like a madman to recover. He has been working day and night to be able to go to the World Cup and I really respect him. He has a hunger for victory and I love his intensity. When he was healthy he was a no nonsense physical midfielder who alway did his best and helped create many great passes. Namouchi who plays for Glasgow Rangers is an exciting pick, he is part of the next wave of Tunisian talent and I am very excited to see him in action.

Kais Ghadban, Chadli, and Mnari, are familiar players to me but please let me know more about them.
I noticed Ben Achour was left out, He may not have performed lately but I remember him bieng very aggressive in the past.

Offense: Jaziri and Dos Santos will be key and hopefully they can finish on the chances they get, I feel like we since both of them are short they may be overpowered but I know Dos Santos has amazing skill. I feel like we need one big striker , with a body like Drogba, or Crespo, or Van Nistelrooy,

Maybe we have one in the remaining strikers that can play phiysical and win some balls against defenders that are usally the largest players. I have heard Great things about Karim El Essediri and he is capable of thrilling runs and is great at setting up attackers. I am happy he made it.

Mliti, Jomaa, and the new player Chikhaoui could make headlines if they get a chance and perform. One player missing is Tunisian hero Guimemdia. I really like that guy but I hope the best decisions were made by Lemerre.

Please Let us all know the answers to the following questions?

1.Who is on the team that you think should not be?

2.Who should be on the team but was not selected?

3. Who is your Starting 11

Hi,
Ayari is good player in the left side. he isn’t so atheltic but he play with a “heart”. but he cannot help in attack.
Ben achour is injuried and cannot be ready for WC
Guemmadia was more injuried this season and didn’t play more macths so he isn’t really ready to play in important competition.
Nefzi has a good season and did more things with his team Monastir.
I don’t understand why Ben jomaa is this team. I don’t understand why ben saada wasn’t selected.
A+
