The world cup today

I have watched 6 matches in 2 days. I noticed that it is really a clean world cup compared to others in my past memory. Not that much diving or overdramatization of injury. Also the teams that are down are playing with a lot of heart. One theme is good teams are scoring early but not necessarily often.

Favorite performance so far : Trinidad and Tobago holding Sweden 0-0. They played theri hearts out wit 10 men and Sweden did everything but score.

Also there was a light controversy during the England match, the English players said they didnt get enough water during the game. Coaches said the players lost 5 to 10 pounds each (hmmm Im not sure if I beleive that but I do beleive they were dehydrated). English players drank 70 liters of water during the game and that was not enough, their coach said normally they drink 20 liters. Im really not sure what happened to make the players so thirsty, temperatures went above 30 C in the stadium that day but they are used to playing in the cold of England. Thats all right compared to the blazing 45 C in Tunisia. I wouldnt mind Tunisia playing in extreme heat, we are all used to it, and we can last a long time in the heat with just a bit of water. Saudia Arabia are also used to even more heat.

On more thing, I found a very nice article on goalkeeper Ali Boumnijel. He reveals some of his fitness secrets at age 40.
