The Pre-Selected Elephants For Tunisia vs. Cote d’Ivoire
Vahid Halilhodzic has announced a list of 32 players from which he will be selecting a smaller roster (around 23 usually) which will travel to Sousse to take part in our August 12th friendly.
No real surprises here, just happy to see they’ve called up the big guns so we can really use this as an opportunity to test the players and the strategy that we will use versus Nigeria in Abuja on September 6th.
Cote d’Ivoire’s 32: Barry Boubacar, Zogbo Aristide, Sangaré Ali Badra, Koné Ibrahim, Angoua Brou Benjamin, Eboué Emmanuel, Lolo Igor Alexandre, Tiéné Siaka, Boka Arthur, Kolo Touré, Meite Abdoulaye, Demel Guy Roland, Bamba Souleman, Gohouri Steve, Zoro Marc, Touré Yaya, Zokora Didier, N’Dri Koffi Romaric, Faé Emerse, Koné Kouamatien, Gosso Gosso Jacques, Tioté Cheik, Coulibaly Kafoumba, Bakari Koné, Keita Abdul Kader, Aruna Dindané, Yao Kouassi Gervais, Kalou Salomon, Drogba Didier, Sanogo Boubacar, Arouna Koné, Cissé Sekou
This inevitably brings up the question of who Humberto Coelho should call up for this encounter? Personally I’m hoping for a Chaouki Ben Saada return. Also wondering if he’ll rely heavily on local players given that the championship just started. In case you didn’t know, Coelho was actually the one who asked for the Tunisian league to kick off 15 days earlier than usual just so we have competitive locals by the time our next qualifier rolls around…
Also will we be calling up any player who we couldn’t before thanks to the FIFA ruling allowing players to switch national team allegiances after their 21st birthday? Is it even worth it at this crucial juncture or should we just stick to the current squad and hope that the extra bit of chemistry they’ve been developing pays off in Abuja?
Lots of questions to answer in the coming weeks and it’s time to build up the excitement for what promises to be a great friendly followed by the most important match we’ll play all year.

A side question: Does anyone know where I can get a replica (original or decent counterfeit) of the NT away red jersey. I got an authentic replica of the white jersey in Tunis last year, but couldn’t find the red one. Puma.com used to offer both during our 2004-2006 peak in popularity, and you could find in sports shops here in Tokyo, but now we seem to be no longer be that important :’-((((((.

Radhouane Felhi just tallied his first goal for 1860 Munich. No details yet, but good things happening this pre season for our youth in Europe’s careers and more pertinent to this site for the benefit of the national team in the upcoming months.

When Jemaa was subbed out, there where some fans whistling, now when i saw this i thought that it was because they didnt want him out, but according to someone on the team-tunisie site it was because he isnt satisfied at Lens and he want to leave for the epl.

Tunisie-foot.com/fr just posted the squad for the Cote Divoire match
Gardiens: Hamdi Kasraoui, Jassem Khalloufi
Défenseurs: Khaled Souissi, Yamen Ben Zekri, Radhouène Felhi, Seif Ghzel, Karim Haggui, Bilel Iffa, Khalil Chammem, Yassine Mikari
Milieux: Chaouki Ben Saada, Khaled Korbi, Wissem Ben Yahia, Chadi Hammami, Fahid Ben Khalfallah, Houcine Ragued, Jamel Saïhi, Nabil Taïder, Oussama Darraji
Attaquants: Issam Jemaa, Sami Allagui, Mohamed Ali Ghariani, Ali Zitouni.
Rami, looks like Coelho has been listening as CBS is back, and Taider is apparently not off the radar. That should be interesting. This should also be a good game to zoom in on Saihi and see what he brings to the table. Khalloufi will prolly not play a role.
