No, nothing yet Tom. I doubt it will get settled while he's on national team duty. He's in Bujumbura right now and if you believe the newspapers, he'll be starting against Burundi tomorrow. His agent has been negotiating with Etoile's team president for a while now but nothing has come of it. My guess is it will be another couple weeks...

Achraf, I'm working on a preview for the Burundi game right now so that should answer your question about what Lemerre might do. For you second question: Everyone, including our favorite idiot Tahar Sioud, is saying Coelho is offensive minded and I believe it. Hopefully he sticks to his ways.

Rachid, thanks a lot the compliment and for the useful link. I don't know if the name of that guy is Opara or Ogpara (I've heard it pronounced the second way)... If those are recruitments are true then it points to the fact that Narry, Ogunbyi, and maybe even Gilson are on the way out because there's a cap on the number of foreigners right? I forgot the exact number... Etoile has a history of good signings. The most telling thing is that most players that leave have tripled or quadrupled their initial transfer fee by the time they go... And if you look at the players that are doing well overseas (Chikhaoui, Ghzel, Haggui) most of them are Etoile products.

Great work, Rami. You set the bar too high!! Here is more info along the lines of your article.

http://www.kawarji.com/actu-2249-_transfert_tableau_des_transferts_de_la_ligue_1_intersaison_2007_2008.html

It indicates Chermiti is a done deal in the German team next year. I also heard that l'Etoile's old Opara (sp?) is coming back! If we have him, Goodwin, and that guy from Zambia (Tambou?), I think l'Etoile is going to be in great shape! Have a great weekend.

Thank You rami for a great update. In Tunisia, they dont have good sources online to keep you updated with the free agency like here in the U.S. What do you think lemerre will do in the upcoming match? Also what would Coelho do different and is he a offensive or defensive minded coach? thanks

Yassine have you been hiding that you're friends with Karim Haggui this whole time? If so, tell him Rami says wassssssssssup :P

The most active so far have been EST and CA but Etoile has some really good youngsters coming up and probably about to make some more moves. Speaking of which, Mossaab Sassi scored another two goals in that UNAF tournament (that brings his total to three). We beat Morocco (1-0), tied Lybia (2-2), and just beat Algeria 2-1. We're ahead of Egypt (they've played one less than us). They could go ahead of us on points if they win their next match but our final match is against them so it will be decisive (game is on saturday). If anyone has seen highlights let me know. I've been looking but to no avail.

Here are the standings so far.

         Pts J G N P Bp Bc
1.Tunisie 7 3 2 1 0 5 3
----------------------------
2. Egypte 6 2 2 0 0 4 0
3. Maroc 3 3 1 0 2 2 3
4. Libye 1 2 0 1 1 2 4
5. Algérie 0 2 0 0 2 1 4

Incredible job Rami, you summed up all the Tunisian mercato action in one comprehensive list, I expected myself to add many additional information about our expats but I haven't found any except some; Mehdi Nafti turned down a good offer from Wigan, Chievo Verona are interested in Houcine Ragued and Karim Haggui will probably join Roma (Exclusive info).

I hope that Driss knows what he's doing because ESS signed a pre-contract with nearly a second team:
GK: Abderraouf Baaboura
DF: Yahia Mida
MF: Mosrati, Ahmed Mida, Touniche, Mariano
ST: Ziedi, Msakni, Mariano, Jabnoun
Coach: Decastel
