The Injury Epidemic Continues…
This is getting old and highly irritating. Another day and another injury that will deprive us of the only true center forward left in our squad. Stade Tunisien striker, Mohammed Selliti, just went down with a muscle tear (no indication which muscle yet) which will sideline him for three weeks according to infosfoot.
It is presumed that Chaouki Ben Saada is going to take his place up top next to Issam Jemaa. Starting two wingers as strikers is not what we’re looking for in a match where scoring the maximum amount of goals is imperative. Plus this is going to hurt against France since we won’t have anyone to lead the line properly and push their defense back.
I’m not devastated by this injury like the other ones that have come before it because I don’t have as much emotionally invested in this player yet I do feel for him. There’s no denying this is yet another blow to our beloved Eagles. I’m more puzzled than anything at this point. Are our players physically frail or is this just a series of unfortunate events?
We’ll have to wait and see whether Coelho deems it necessary to call up a replacement last minute. If that occurs, I’ll update the post.
Message to the injury gods: Take a chill pill and ease off our boys!

WOW! I agree with your first sentence Rami. This was Selliti’s chance to show what he has left in him due to the injuries of our other forwards. I am not as upset about this injury as I was with the other one’s because I think Ben Saada can fill in for him and has experience on the national team but not at that position. But I don’t know what would happen if we put Belaid there. Will he get goals?assists?

yea, we’re looking pretty sharp out there. even if its against a weak team, its nice to see nice build up to our attacks and some quality finishing.
Ben Khalfallah is impressing me a lot in this one. Essifi gets first goal with the Tunisian NT, Mikari and Fahid too. I think it maybe saber’s first goal for us as well.

Other than that header Essifi made i think he should be replaced emmediately, hes too slow.

i thought burkina faso plays tomorrow…..

anyways, this is the tunisia i miss seeing. im glad to see we beat them with ease, especially the fact that we did it without our key players.

I agree Abdullah Essifi doesn’t help the team at all. We shouldn’t play him under any any circumstances aginst France. We won’t score goals if he does.
It was nice to see the team score goals, but the real test is on Tuesday.

Lazar i thought so too.

What a good game this was. Very proud of Fahid Ben Khalfallah. He had a good game passing the ball, running his routes, and shooting the. As Tunis 7 said while I was watching the game, he plays with both his right and left foot. I am happy for him and Mikari for getting their first goals on the NT. They both deserved it. I liked the defense, they played very well with Ben freg, ghzal, haggui, and Mikari. That defensive line should stay permanant. Very happy about this performance and hopefully it will carry on to France.

Rami, this is worthy of a timely article! We truly kicked some ass and took some names today! We ought to be proud of it. I feel like the Tunisian NT we know is back today! I cannot even begin to imagine how it’d be with Chikhaoui and Chermiti! Khalfallah, Mikari, and others are truly an asset for us. With this team, we would be unstoppable. I feel I’m not exaggerating, but it felt like the Tunisian spirit is back!!! Hope this gets confirmed against France on Tuesday, but regardless, I’m very proud of this team.

Hey Nabil, sorry I couldn’t help you out today with a link. I hope you found the match. It was on koora tounsia on sopcast. That’s a good reference to go on usually. I can give more specific instructions if you require them. Thanks for introducing yourself btw, nice to hear from readers who don’t comment very often
I’m sorry but I don’t think I can write about this match today unfortunately. It was a very impressive performance where we finally showed some ingenuity in the midfield and creativity in general. It looked like we actually were in tune with each other on the field too. Very fun indeed.
I’ll write about this asap (probably tomorrow).
