The Consequences Of Pescara

Infosfoot.net and Mosaique FM are both reporting that the technical staff of the national Olympic team which is composed of Skander Kasri, Lotfi Hsoumi, and Slim Ben Othman will not have their contracts renewed after our participation at the 2009 Mediterranean Games in Pescara.

While that’s not altogether surprising, what remains a mystery is why Esperance’s Youssef Mskani and Etoile’s Aymen Abdennour have received indefinite suspensions that will deprive them from representing both the Olympic and (this is what I’m more worried about) the first team. In all their transparency, the FTF failed to give reasons as to why this decision was taken.

I know Msakni was supposedly suffering from a back injury which prevented him from taking part but is there more to the story then that? Meanwhile, I have no clue why Abdennour is getting the axe too. Sure neither one of them is a pillar of our senior squad but they both have bright futures. This ban certainly won’t last for the rest of their careers but it’d be nice to know what they did exactly…

There’s rumors that Abdennour defended the financial rights of some of his team-mates apparently but nothing more specific than that… He was the captain of the squad so perhaps some players hadn’t been paid for participating?

If anyone knows more about this then please enlighten us! I’ll update this post if any new info comes out.

Update

If what infosfoot says is true, then its just further proof of FTF incompetence. The article linked here says that each player was supposed to get 60 euros of spending money but they only offered them five on the eve of the Albania match. Abdennour called the minister of sport and the issue was resolved but now the FTF is trying to have the final word. How ridiculous is this?

Cote d’Ivoire Friendly Confirmed

One good thing that came out of yesterday’s FTF meeting is that the match versus Cote d’Ivoire is settled. It will be played on Wednesday, August 12th, at 19:10 local time in Sousse. Nice to see that it’s being played somewhere other than Rades. The question is, will they actually go through with it because we heard the same thing about Monastir last time…

Just a Rumor!! I heard nothing here. Bayern is actually trying to get rid of some players who are fit and can be a big help to any other team (Borowski, Lell,Lucio, Ottel). I dont think Bayern will buy an injured player. they have watched Chikhaoui 2 years ago as he was top and there have been back then many rumors about him.Now there is not even a sign of a rumor.
Chikhaoui should stay in Zürich, get fit for the World Cup and maybe later go to a different league.

Chermiti got subbed in in the 58th min yesterday, Voronin and Pantelic have left so that leaves 4 strikers: Rafael, Chermiti, Pizsczek, and Domovchiyski.

Chaouki ben Saada bagged a goal tonight as Nice beat Clermont Foot by 2 goals to 1. Maybe a good pre season will lead to a call up for the Nigeria match?

Rami i was reading one of your articles about CA, and i was wondering are all these players fit? Adel Nefzi, Atef Dkhil, Khaled Souissi, Helmi Hmam, Anis Amri, Abdelmonem Derbali, Mehdi Meriah, Wissem Ben Yahia, Oussama Sellami, Slim Bacha, Bilel Iffa, Alexis Mendomo, Hcine Jabeur, Youssef Mouihbi, Hamouda Maâmri, Hamza Messadi, Zouhaier Dhaouadi, Ezenwa Otorogu, Khaled Melliti.

Mouihbi was out for a long time, and i also remember Dhaouadi having an injury.

Hey Abdullah, according to the latest on webvirage (CA’s main fan forum) everybody is fine but i know that Lechantre said he was not 100 percent sure that Oorogo would be ready for this match when he spoke to the club’s official website last week. Apparenntly those doubts have been put to rest. Some say that Mouihbi wont start because he’s still not physically ready for 90 mins of action. That could be right. If he doesnt start expect Maameri in his place. He’s been having a very good preseason. Dhaouadi is fully recovered and back in shape so he should be in the starting eleven.

Enjoy the first day of matches everyone!

Nah, he’s on trial buddy. If he does well in training then they’ll sign him as long as they can agree on salary (something he was unable to do with Saint Gallen). We’ll know more about this in the coming days.

I think he will sign there Malaga had a pretty decent season despite the fact that they are also not a very rich team, funny we might see a Tunisian at Depor’s biggest rivals :D

Haha yea, apparently he signed (at least according to this source): http://www.leparisien.fr/sports/journal-transferts/bordeaux-attend-ciani-28-07-2009-592240.php

I guess that trial went well. Its weird though, they didn’t use him in their friendly versus Atalante yesterday…

It would be real nice, and in my opinion Bena would be real fortunate to sign a 2 year contract with Malaga.
I did however notice on the main website today 7/28/09 that he is still trying out. Of course Le Parisien has sources bigger than I, so maybe they are on to something, but according to the main websites they said basically their two other signings reported to practice along with bena and andrade who are still trying out.

hope it goes through!

This dude posted dimanche sport on dailymotion if you all want to avoid downloading it, but I must say I still opted for Rami’s link above because the quality is pretty poor on dailymotion. I must say though, hats off to all of these technicians for making all of this readily available on a weekly basis. When I started following tunisian football all I had was la press’ website and I had to wait 2 years to get tunisie-foot.

Haggui started in the game against arsenal. Not a huge impact on the game. He actually got into a scuffle with Robin Van Persie in the first half. Apart from that, on the highlights he was one of the two defenders beat with the through ball on the goal, and also got out jumped by Bendtner on a corner that almost lead to the goal. I’m assuming he had a pretty solid game overall though since his team dominated the second half and they only lost one nil.
