The Carthage Eagles are Back on World Cup Blog
Sup soccerphiles…My name is Rami and I’m the new guy in charge of the Tunisia World Cup Blog. I came in on a free transfer (like Ballack, but hopefully I fit in here better than he does at Chelsea…) and I’m going to be sharing my thoughts on the Carthage Eagles as they prepare for the African Cup of Nations that will take place in Ghana next year. I will also try to include as much information as I can on the domestic league in Tunisia as well as our expats who are ballin out in various European, Asian, and African Leagues.
Since this is my first post, I figure it’s as good a time as any for introductions. As I said before, my name is Rami and I got crazy keyboard skillz…I can pull the elastico at any minute with my quick fire finger pace and I’m known to complete no look typing sessions with flamboyant ease. Ronaldinho with a PC (sorry Mac lovers). I also complete ill step-overs and jukes when I’m avoiding all the dirty laundry that litters my bedroom floor. On the real tip, I’m a half American, Half Tunisian kid who was born and raised in Tunisia his entire life before coming to college in the states. I enjoy PES AKA Winning Eleven, kicking my soccer ball around the house, and listening to quality hip hop. Despite being the holder of three passports (USA, Tunisia, and one Diplomatic US passport that I got through my mom’s gov. job…Dip Dip Set Set) my soccer/football allegiances rest with my country of birth. I follow the Tunisian National Team fanatically (not an easy task when you live in the US). While I am gaining more of an appreciation for the MLS and American soccer in general the biggest complaint I have is the terrible announcing. The players are coming along fine, it’s the suits that have to get in gear. Sorry, off topic… Hopefully my time with the offside will coincide with some continental success for our boys followed with a good run up to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. I’ll be doing my best to keep you up to date on all current affairs without neglecting the past exploits of one of Africa’s best teams.
That’s it for now, I have to actually clean this place up before the defenders (my dirty laundry) cop an attitude and start breaking my legs.
