Saber Ben Fraj Makes Successful Debut with Le Mans
I’m practically a week late reporting on this but they say better late then never so here it goes: Saber Ben Fraj, Al Moudafa3 el haddaf (the goalscoring defender), SBF, Ben Fraj, or just SABER finally got a full 90 minutes under his belt in the Ligue 1 with his team Le Mans. The french outfit must have been thrilled with their acquisition when they saw how well he performed at the African Cup (all tournament selection) as those who had been previously vying for his signature were kicking themselves for not locking him up.
Marseille was said to have heavy interest in the Tunisian international but Saber surprisingly opted for the the MUC side instead. His reasoning was that since he would be playing behind a talented right back in Jean Calve, Le Mans would give him time to adapt to life in France during this first season while securing his starting spot for next year in the process (Calve is likely to be transferred). Not so bad of any idea but recently the extended bench time has been frustrating the rabid competitor. A timely injury changed all this last weekend and Saber finally got his chance.
New country, new team, and new jersey but we saw the same old gladiator we all know and love. The only thing strange perhaps is that his club’s new colors are that of Esperance (and we know how much he likes them!). What can we say about the man, an absolute warrior who never backs down from the competition and sometimes borders on the crazy. The reasons some people criticize him are the same ones used when people speak highly of him.
He puts everything on the line and plays with extreme emotion (not to mention skill). He shined in his first real chance with the club and showed the fans that their money was well spent. He won many of his offensive duels with his trademark ball control and acceleration, contributed to the buildup of one of the goals, and earned a 6.5 out of 10 from l’Equipe for his performance (second best score on the team). Keep it up Saber, we’re all rooting for you!
YA SABER YA SABER YA SABER YA SABER!!!
Not the best highlights in terms of editing but not so bad either. Nice to see him in action.

Saber’s former teammate, Mejdi Traoui has joined Redbull Salzburg on a three year contract. He’ll leave for Austria at the end of this season. Good luck Mejdi! What do you guys think of this move?

Mejdi Traoui also leaving Tunisian Ligue A, let us see that its a trend to buy tunisian players (for cheap).
There is now special interest from clubs from Swiss, and Austria Club salzburg also following there Swiss colleges (FC Zurich) but also players like pape Malik from CSS to FC Basel a few years ago, Marcos Dos Santos for example at a swiss based club ex- EST, show us that these countries are aware of the football level of the tunisian competian, but now many players are bought from the Tunisian top clubs and these clubs having problem with keeping there selection.
So in african clubcompetion they wil get weaker.
I hope I’m wrong

Yeah Saber produced a great performance last Saturday and that isn’t all! He was chosen in L’Equipe’s “Equipe Type” : http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/EQUIPE_TYPE_D1_35.html
And he’ll be in the starting eleven for tonight’s game against Lorient:

You’re right Moni, Red Bulls Salzburg are also interested in 2 other Tunisian players; Sabri Lounis(JSK, LNFP2 top goalscorer) and Anis Bousaaidi (Former ST Player, current KV Mechelen player)
FC Zurich, Yassine Chikhaoui’s team, are intereted in Zouhaier Dhaouadi.
