QUIT YOUR JOB FOR THE WORLD CUP?
Does this describe you?
With only a few weeks left before the world cup frenzy you sit at your desk, counting how many sick days you have left. You realize that you do not have enough sick days or excuses to be absent in order to fully enjoy the world cup. You feel like it is your goal and duty to yourself to enjoy this epic event that will not be repeated for another 4 years. The sheer excitment of the event takes over your mind as you imagine your team taking the trophy. But then dull reality hits and you realize that you will have to work and miss the best assortment of talent that has ever graced a sporting event.
Ladies and Gentleman, that describes me, and I will be damned if I miss Tunisia play or another match i wish to see. I would really love to wake up and watch 3 matches a day for a month. Nothing would be better unless it were live in Germany itself.
So shall I give my two weeks before the Cup begins? Shall I free my self from the cage known as employment.? Shall I try to quench my unquenchible thirst for this beautiful game while draining my financial account? Let me know
Are any of you out there willing to go from bieng a suit to a wearing a jersey for 30 days. As for getting another job, well worry about that after the trophy is hoisted by the winning team.
[...] We’ve been reading a lot of stories about how employees from Malaysia to Tunisia and all parts in between will be calling in sick to the office a lot during the World Cup. We’ve heard how some of you are plotting to watch the World Cup and we’ve gone so far as to pen a note to your boss explaining your World Cup illness. Today we even read that an insurance company in the Netherlands is offering policies to Dutch employers to help insure them against large-scale absenteeism. There seems to be an obvious solution to all of this. [...]

Bessam,
I know how you feel as I would have liked to take the four weeks off to watch the games but unfortunately, I have a family to feed so can’t really stop working yet. I enjoy writing the Cote d’Ivoire blog and this has given me a lot of satisfaction. However,
I am busy plotting how to make a living on the internet by working from home.
