Player Profile: Dos Santos

Francileudo dos Santos Silva, born in Brazil, but given Tunisian citizneship prior to the 2004 Africa Nations Cup has proved a valuable addition to the team. This striker’s goals are often what puts the Eagles over the top in close matches. His club is Toulouse. He has been having some problems lately with Toulouse and has not been seeing a lot of playing time. He is a good player that is sure to be an asset in Germany.

[...] Francileudo Dos Santos, Tunisia A Brazilian by birth, the exciting Dos Santos is a born goal scorer. [...] I came across this interesting article today about the number of Brazilian-born players who will be suiting up for other countries this summer at the World Cup. With competition for the selecion so intense, an increasing number of Brazilian players are seeking international opportunities elsewhere. The result is players like Deco for Portugal, Dos Santos for Tunisia and Dud for Croatia will all be playing key roles for their adopted countries this summer. [...]

[...] That leaves the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia. Perhaps looked down upon because it lacks pedigree, Tunisia is an experienced team that is extremely well coached by Roger Lemerre. Tunisia rarely looks disorganized and does not give up bad goals. For this reason alone, I like them to come out of this group. Throw in Francileudo dos Santos, one of the best strikers you don’t know, and Tunisia has just enough of an offensive attack to edge out a Spain team that is better on paper. [...]
