Place Your Bets

Like any sporting event, the World Cup will be a chance for gamblers around the globe to make a wager on the outcome. I’m not much of a gambler myself, but I like to look at the odds the bookmakers place to see who they think has the best chance of winning.

Odds of winning Group H:

Spain – 1.66
Ukraine – 3.5
Tunisia – 13
Saudi Arabia – 51

Odds of winning World Cup:

Spain – 15
Ukraine – 67
Tunisia – 301
Saudi Arabia – 1001

I suppose it makes sense to favor the seeded team Spain to take the group, but I have high hopes that Tunisia is going to find a way to make it past the group stage this time around. I know Ukraine has been doing well as of late, but Tunisia is riding higher in the current FIFA rankings at 28 to Ukraine’s 40. I think it’s going to be an interesting group. There could be some surprises. Based on these odds, one can only hope!
