Lemerre Confident of Tunisia Title Defense

January 26th, 2006 | By: WC Bob | No Comments »

Following his teams 2-0 win over South Africa today in the African Nations Cup, Tunisia coach Roger Lemerre said he likes how the tournament is shaping up.

“We were a bit scared of South Africa because they beat us in a friendly at home but we prepared specially for this game and the result of this preparation was evident today,” he said.

“We are the champions and now more than ever, we are here to defend our title.”

After winning its first two games in commanding style, Lemerre has a reason to be confident. But with strong teams like Cameroon and Ivory Coast still alive, there is a long way to go before we can crown Tunisia champions again.
