Here we Go!
The cup has started and now we can begin to really get excited. in 5 days Tunisia will take the feild and It will be awesome! I will be enjoying England vs Paraguay and Argebtina vs Ivory Coast this Saturday
Update: I was trying to find Roger Lemerres idea behind selecting Chaouki Ben Sadaa to replace Issam Jomaa. Im not saying its a bad decision or anyone else should have been picked I just wanted to know why.
I found out several things,
Jomaa was a left footed attacker and he was injured –> Ben Sadaa is left footed and is more versatile. He is an attacker and can also be used as an attacking midfielder who can service the ball to the strikers .
Ben Sadaa is replaceing Jomaa By station. It is rumored that he refused to be on the reserve list but in an interview Ben Sadaa has said that he kept in touch with Roger Lemerre and said he would try and remain fit in case of an emergency and he is called up. He is not quite match fit but getting there.
As you know all teams have about 5 extra reserve players that train with them in Germany like Jermaine Defoe did with England. Ben Sadaa was not one of these players, so it is interesting that a player that was not training with the team nor mentioned as one of the 5 backup players when the team of 23 was announced was selected.
I do believe Roger Lemerre knows what he is doing. I dont think he was not so impressed witht the players training with the team like Naim Berrbatt. Or maybe the perfect player to replace Jomaa was Ben Sadaa.
I like Haykel Guimemdia alot but he is very much like Jaziri and I wish he was on the team too.
Other names many Tunisians want is Slim Ben Achour, he has been injured lately and was so upset when he wasnt included on the 23 man list that he told Lemerre not to even consider him as one of the 5 reserves.
Their is a beautiful harmony between Jaziri and Santos and hopefully it can continue and Santos can return quickly. Otherwise Ben Sadaa can be used as a midfielder or striker, but I would like to see the Man Child Chikaiou take the starting spot.
