FTF Lining Up Friendlies And Training Camps
It’s the question we’ve all been asking ourselves: Are we really going to go into our Mozambique match without playing any friendlies against African opponents? Thankfully the answer from the FTF is “no” considering the fact that they just announced the following:
- Humberto Coelho will assemble his team for Tunis based training camp during the month of May (dates to be determined later).
- At the end of said training camp the Carthage Eagles will play a friendly against either against Muri Ogunbyi Ola’s Benin or Gilson Silva’s Cape Verde on the 27th of 28th of May.
- The June 6th qualifier against Mozambique will have a 6:00 pm kickoff time. That’s good news considering our fans don’t like to go to Rades late at night since it’s not easy for people using public transportation.
- After they play (and hopefully beat!) Mozambique, the national team will conduct another training camp to prepare for the crucial match against Nigeria on June 20th but this one will be held abroad. Barcelona, Lisbon, and Rome are some likely destinations. Good idea to get the boys all focused on the task at hand and away from the daily pressure back home.
- To prepare for the return match against Nigeria on September 5th we are trying to organize a match against Cote d’Ivoire which will potentially be played at Rades stadium on August 20th. It can be argued that it would be better to play away to an African team but we’ve already shown we can travel by beating Kenya in Nairobi and historically Tunisia is one of the best away teams you will find on the continent.
This is all good news that we’ve been expecting for a moment. It would not have been smart to play Mozambique and Nigeria without proper tune ups and the FTF is doing what its there to do. Nigeria is trying to organize an encounter against Morocco to prepare for us… What do you guys think of the program and possible opponents? Any preferences?

Yassine Chikhaoui could be back as early as next weekend!
Congratulations to Esperance for their 1-0 win against the defending Arab Champions ES Setif. An amazing outing considering the conditions and the fact that they played a league match only 48 hours ago. Who scored? Darragi, who else?
Reminder
Tunisia WCB has a page on Facebook. The membership has been increasing but we need more people to join to make it more worthwhile. We keep the updates and highlights coming so it’s worth it! If you know people on Facebook that would find it interesting then please send them the link so they can check it out. It would be much appreciated!

Seems like FTF is finally doing its job
Can’t wait for all of these matches, I’ll be attending them all

good articles on goal.com rami. i didnt know about those trials. hopefully both of them get signed. jabbari has massive potential considering he was born in 1991. he could definatly make steady progress at a team like le havre. hopefully ifa, hadhria, mskakni and the rest of our olympic squad also make the leap to europe in coming years.

Yassine, I’m jealous!
Yea Thamer, Zairi made a positive impression at Wolfsburg as did Jabbari at Le Havre. I’m wondering about the latter though because they’re also looking at Ghariani and already brought Essifi for a trial months ago. I don’t think they’ll be signing three Tunisian strikers considering no matter how good they are. They’ll probably settle on one but I’m not sure which and definitely not sure at what price. They look certain to be relegated so price could be an issue. Not worried about Jabbari though, he’ll find a taker sooner or later and more time in Tunisia won’t hurt him. Werder Bremen and Bayer Leverkusen are tracking him…

Tunisians helping RC Lens out! Jemaa had a hat trick today and A.Yahia has 1 goal. But it was good to see Issam have 3 goals after only having 1 this season. But he also had an own goal today. So 4 goals today ? lol.

you can find the goals on this website below. Amazing scissor kick by Yahia and three goals (four if you count his own goal) for Jemaa! All the goals in the match were “made in Tunisia”

I saw that match Skander, one of his poorest so far unfortunately. It wasn’t his fault really since his teams midfield was ineffective and they didn’t get him any balls. He had to track back a lot to even touch the ball and was out of position as a result. A lot of it has to do with just how good Atletico’s attack is. They had the ball most of the time and punished Depo’s mistakes. Hopefully he’ll get another chance this weekend.

Nice to see we’re preparing for the upcoming tough qualifiers, Cote d’ivore is comparable to Nigeria, and i hope they play Benin in May that would be good sparringpartner for us before we play Mozambique.
