Eaglets Return to Carthage
Here’s some footage of the players and trainers upon their return to Tunis-Carthage International Airport. The boys seem to be happy enough with having made it to the second round. The consensus seems to be that the we didn’t get a favorable result in the France game mainly because the red card, exhaustion, and the rain. There’s probably more to it than that but they were playing so I guess they would know better. The coach, Maher Kanzari, talks about the unity in the team and where it stems from, the somewhat unexpected level of success in the group stages, and the let down against France. According to him, the entertaining football that was played in the group stage showed that Tunisia could have gone a lot farther in the tournament and that it perhaps deserved better. I agree but the result speaks for itself. Nothing wrong with that though, it’s still the best we’ve ever done in a FIFA competition. That’s what happens when you combine years of hard work, skilled players, good trainers, and enough resources (i.e. money$$$). Once again, the videos are exclusively in Tunisian vernacular so non Arabic speakers be warned. Actually non Tunisians be warned, our slang is crazy
