Dos Santos injury scare

June 7th, 2006 | By: Bessam | 5 Comments »

During Tunisias 4-0 victory over a select German side striker Francuiledo Dos Santos was taken off in the 25th minute clutching the back of his knee. According to coach Lemerre : “It’s only a small injury which he’s had for about a fortnight.”

He will be examined however on Thursday. I seriously hope he will recover and be fit and healthy to play on the 14th when Tunisia will face Saudi Arabia in the first game of group play.

The match was watched by 3,500 fans goals were scored by
Jaziri (27′, 62′ ) , Ghodbhane 69′, Chikhaoui 83′

*Jemmali played as LEFT back. This is interesting maybe it was Lemerres way of answering my last post?

I’m officially scared. We really need our brazilian boy. Hopefully he’ll shake it off in time for the saudi arabia game.

I just read this article on BBC. Its not horrible news but its not good either. Santos will miss our first game and maybe more. The injury is to his shin. I hope Chikhaoui can pick up the slack in his absence.

heres the link.

Forgive my earlier optimism tunisia fans. It doesn’t take a genius to realize that this is going to hurt us in the scoring department quite a bit. I just hope he can make it back for the Spain and Ukraine matches where we will need him moreso than against Saudi. This sucks.
