Coelho Gets Experimental For Sudan Friendly
The list for our Sudan friendly was announced earlier today and, as expected, Humberto Coelho will be primarily relying on local players since the majority of our expats have commitments with their respective club teams.
So that means no Lassad’s, no Chikhaoui’s, no Jemaa’s etc. Basically most of our foreign based elements in leagues that are yet to come to a close won’t make the trip. May 28th is not a FIFA date so calling them up doesn’t oblige their teams to release them.
However, what we do have is a very interesting mix of local players who are all in good form and will be fighting tooth and nail to show that they are deserving of a national team place once Mozambique and Nigeria come to town in June.
Let’s take a look at the list and then hear what Coelho had to say:
Goalkeepers: Hamdi Kasraoui (Esperance), Aymen Mathlouthi (Etoile)
Defenders: Billel Iffa (Club Africain), Aymen Abdennour (Etoile), Khalil Chammam (Esperance), Khaled Souissi (Club Africain), Radhouane Felhi (Etoile), Radhi Jaidi (Birmingham City), Ammar Jemal (Etoile)
Midfielders: Houcine Ragued (Mons), Zine Abedine Souissi (Esperance), Khaled Korbi (Esperance), Wissem Ben Yahia (Club Africain), Maher Hannèchi (US Monastir), Oussema Daraji (Esperance)
Strikers: Amine Chermiti (Hertha Berlin), Sami Allagui (Greuther Furth), Hichem Essifi (US Monastir), Abdel Majid Ben Belgacem (US Monastir), Mohamed Ali Ghariani (FC Istres), Mohammed Selliti (Stade Tunisien)
Coelho’s Explanations (courtesy of gnet):
Good news on Ben Saada: “The majority of those not called up for this fixture have commitments with their teams. Others are injured such as Nouioui, Mikari, and Saihi. Ben Saada will be back in the team soon as opposed to Yahia who expressed his desire to not longer be called up.”
New boys: “Souissi and Korbi are doing good work. There’s a good understanding between them and we saw how Esperance employed a good press during their matches thanks to this pair that deserves to be tested. As for Ben Belgacem, he’s a player that is fast with good technique.”
Chermiti and players lacking competition: “These players are in form and haven’t expended as much physically as others. For example, Chermiti is still part of the 18 players on his team who are eligible to play and this is a club that was playing for the title in Germany. We don’t have an Eto’o or a Messi so we need attackers who can create like Amine.”
Chikhaoui on the radar: “I’m following Chikhaoui. Lately he played a good half an hour during which he showed his capacity to go through the adversaries defense. His qualities are enormous and he is a fine player but he’s not at up to his physical best yet.”
On Sudan: “It’s an aggressive team with tall players who are good technically.”
Conclusion: “We’ve tried to call up players who are in the best form during this period of fatigue.”
All in all his reasoning is understandable. Some might have wanted to see other players from the Tunisian league in the list though. Anyone you think should’ve been included and was snubbed? Also, the FTF came to its senses and rescheduled the match so that it doesn’t conflict with the European Champions League final. Logic prevails.
Unrelated but still worth reading: Despite winning the league with Esperance and being anointed top scorer, Eneramo is not a happy camper.

Some football related humor. Not sure how old it is, but just in case some of you have not seen this on Hannibal TV. Enjoy!

The “boxing” edisodes during the Esperance-WAC final game reminded me of this sketch.

It looks like Mikari is ready to play today according to Sochaux website. He rested on Tuesday and returned to training on wednesday. He is projected to start today’s match and hopefully he will be and stay healthy. We need him for mozambique and Nigeria!!

Aimen Demai is playing on a new team next season, he will play for Alemania Aachen who were close to make it to bundesliga 1 and thats why he signed a 3 year deal because they are close to moving up. I wish him luck.
Those who dont know how to read german, translate it like i did!

I am in Dusseldorf and i am seeing poeple party. Can someone tell me why?I only now something about fortuna.

Allagui just scored against Ahlen, though i couldnt see how since there is no stream.

Isn’t Allagui’s goal offside?

Skander, if you look closely a defender actually passed him the ball when he tried to steal it. Hard to notice on the first look though
Abdullay, thanks for the highlights!
Rachid, thanks for the link. Don’t have time right now but I’ll check it out for sure.
Achraf, good looks on the Demai link.
Feedi, I’m sorry but I have no clue man!
BTW, Chikhaoui and FCZ = Champions of Switzerland. Wrapped up the title today by winning their game and Basel losing their 3-1 to Grasshoppers. Chikha came in for 20 mins, missed a 1 on 1 with the keeper rushing at him out of the box. He put it wide. He created a number of chances to give his team the 2-0 but his team-mates didn’t display better finishing than he did, one of them hitting the post though. Nonetheless, they won and its Chikha’s first title in Europe. Hopefully one of many to come! Mabrouk Chikha

Demai also scored a goal yesterday!

I am exciting for the game against Sudan. We are not playing home, right?
They are very strong at home.
I dont think Jaidi will be back fot the game against Mozambiqeu.Than he must to make place for Mikari.
If coelho choose to give a chance for layersthat must to prove them selve than i choose for this line-up:
Mathlouthi
Ifa-Abbenour-Felhi-Sousi
Korbi-Darragi-Hannechi-Soussi
Essifi-Ghariani
Subs at the second half:Allagui for Ghariani-Belgacem in for Essifi-Hannechi out for Yahia.
The line-up if we want to `win`(sirious):
Mathlouthi
ifa-jmel-Felhi-Abbenour
Korbi-Ragued-Yahia-Soussi
Essifi–Allagui
Subs:Ghariani for a striker.
Chermiti is injuried,right?
I realy hope that the new boys impres Coelho.Hope it really for Essifi.Scored two at his first game is good.I hope he goes to Le Havre, they are going to the ligeu 2 and that step is not big or him.

Feedi you should really improve your English and update your info on our NT. If you even read Rami’s articles you’ll know everything you need to know. We’ll be playing Sudan next Thursday in Rades, that’s in Tunisia.
Jaidi is a centerback while Mikari is a left back. Thay play in different positions. (Mikari played 90 minutes saturday, Coelho said that he was injured?)
USMo lost the Tunisian cup yesterday against CSS. Essifi was ineffective as usual, missing several chances and losing the ball everytime he has it. His level these last 6 months was awful. He isn’t NT worthy.
I think Coelho considers Ben Belgacem as the 23rd player. Sure he’s promising but he must improve if he’s to be recalled.
Hannachi was the only player of USMo that didn’t panic when he had the ball, but the rest of his teammates didn’t help him at all.

Namouchi already signed at sivasspor? http://fanatik.ekolay.net/fanatik/SÜPER-LİG-İşte-son-Yiğido!_4_HDetail_88_133893_20.htm

Its official, Hamdi Kasraoui is going to play for RC Lens joining Issam Jemaa.

According to JawharaFM Boudabbous is suppose to move to Partizan in july. So if thats true then yes.

Yassine i dont watch the tunisian ligeu allot.Or the cup
I is abbenour an right/left back or a centreback.Tunisia has allot of centrebacks so mikari can replace Jaidi in the NT.
You can be right about Essifi and Hannachi.
