Chikhaoui to Barca for Knee Inspection

March 6th, 2009 | By: Rami | 43 Comments »

So he’s not signing there or anything like that, but according to Blick, Yassine Chikhaoui is on his way to the Catalan city tomorrow with FC Zurich President Ancillo Canepa, team doctor Jose Romero, and physiotherapist Ad Van den Bergh to speak to FC Barcelona’s medical staff about the knee injury that has plagued the offensive midfielder since his 2008 African Nations Cup experience.

The medical staff there has had extensive experience with similar cases and will conduct tests to determine whether they can help him in his rehabilitation from the Patella tendon injury which has kept him out for well over a year now.

Barcelona continues to live up to their “More than a Club” motto. Hopefully they can aid Chikhaoui in his attempt to live up to his and our aspirations too…

Hocine Ragued is being looked at by Spartak Moscow. This is good to hear for him since his team is about to be relegated to the second division of Belgium and that would suck fo ragued.

what a game for lassad, he just gave another assist, instead of scoring it himself. At least he is not selfish like jemaa is.

Thats exactly what i thought, but it was the right decision.
Now i’d like to see him score his first, to be honest he couldve played 70 mins easily.

Tamim, thanks man! That match is going to be fire. I can’t wait.

Lassad looked fantastic today. They took him out early to be sure he doesn’t push himself too hard and aggravate the hamstring pull. I’m glad he’s ok. He looks like he’ll easily make the squad for Kenya if he keeps this up. Finally a center forward who bothers opposing defenses.

I am happy Allagui scored. Lassad had one assist but deportivos first goal, was made by a great heal pass by lassad and then another player centered the ball and i think riki scored it. I would like to see Lassad and Allagui start next to each other.

Tamim, don’t count your chickens before they hatch! Algeria is going to defend its chances and very aggressively. It is not going to be the walk-in-the-park scenario many people are suggesting. Mark my words!

The Esperance “house” appears to be showing some serious cracks:

Feedi, I don’t quite follow your logic about the Tunisian Cup winner! The EST-ESS game will be on the 15th April, on the 12th if Esperance is eliminated from the Arab Champions League by Ismaily. Good luck to all.

Rachid, they will defend their chances very “agressively” -as usual- so as us!!!!!

Video of Allagui’s goal. Bad goalie mistake but the shot was perfect: http://www.team-tunisie.net/videoplayer-71.html

Thamer, Lassad had two. I didn’t see the first one (the back hell) but saw the second. He played well from what I’ve read so far.

Rami, that bad goalie mistake reminded me of Dhaouadi’s goal against Marsa. Sometimes, it makes me wonder!

H. Lif 3 – CA 1. What the hell just happened? CA goes from 1st to 3rd within a little bit more than a week. Very interesting turn of events!

I watched some of the game. CA’s defense really suffered with Ifa and Souissi missing. Some really terrible sequences that led to goals. Hammam Lif played very well though and full credit to them for taking advantage. It’s not a big problem, one point away from the leaders and you know how we like to be “fil retroviseur” :P I’d rather we were first of course but c’est la vie. It’s still wide open.

i wouldnt worry about it rami…you lost to a mid table team away by two with important people missing, we beat the last place team at home by two goals…not convincing at all. we’ll see what happens.

True, plus it’s hard to bring me down today after the great news on Chikhaoui. Just the thought of him possibly being back on the field sometime soon is thrilling.

Rami, I admire your sporstmanship and your going above and beyond the call of duty to be impartial. It’s a great quality. This is going to be anyone’s title: Etoile, EST, CA? It’s going to be down to the wire! Next round is very interesting too with EST facing USMo in Monastir, CA vs CSS in Sfax, and Etoile vs ST in Sousse. It makes for some very interesting games ahead. Good luck to all!
