Chermiti The Agent

June 29th, 2009 | By: Rami | 33 Comments »

Modeling wasn’t enough of a side gig for our striker apparently because according to Amine Chermiti, his club (and more specifically his coach Lucien Favre) is interested in quite a number of Tunisian players. The list reportedly includes Aymen Balbouli, Youssef Msakni, Ammar Jemal, and Oussemma Darragi.

Here’s what he said word for word after naming the players, if the words were in English that is: “The next weeks will tell us a lot more about the intentions of my club.” Hmm how enlightening… We’ll keep a look out I guess? (I will of course)

If Chermiti did in fact say this in an interview with Assabah (you can never tell these days…) then what does it mean? Answer: Not that much really… So why am I writing about it? Answer: To tell you about it, duh!

For real though, the news isn’t really earth shattering but its news nevertheless. Coaches and teams in Europe follow a lot of players (most of which they never end of up signing) and Hertha is no different. Apparently they’ve identified some of the best ones we have playing in our domestic league.

Nothing more to say than that really (sorry). Consider this an informational post. I doubt any of our clubs let go of these assets, especially Darragi. Esperance would be kidding themselves if they think they can win the CAF Champions league next season without him running things in midfield.

Any other transfer news that you’re waiting on to fill your time as the September match in Abuja approaches?

I’m pretty sure this was discussed earlier on this year, nonetheless rumors are resurfacing today that Bachtobji is trying out at Nantes.
http://www.mercato365.com/infos-clubs/nantes/article_329105_Nantes-Bachtobji-a-l-essai.shtml
I my opinion Nantes could have done better if they’re in Tunisia scouting Defenders, and I’m a CA fan.

Skander, I guess I was wrong about Istres. I thought for sure he signed…

Feedi, when I first saw that on my phone (the haggui poll results) I misread and thought it said 81% percent. I was so confused. Makes more sense now.

Tahar, it’s not a rumor, there’s photo evidence that he’s there. This means Jemal isn’t going anywhere, they wanted him too but Etoile wouldn’t budge. Now that Felhi is gone also they’re definitely not letting him leave. Can’t blame them. Here the pic of Bach: http://www.fcnantes.fr/articles/20082009/photos/reprise300609/12.jpg

His manager went bankrupt and so did he, he lost almost everything and even had to sell minor parts of his properties.

that is not true Abdullah he didn’t care about his “properties” (some Ajax shirts, medals, trophies, sun glasses etc )he just leave whitout sign up his house rent contract. Just let some furniture and close behind and then when the house rent was not payed for some months the real estate owner suid him, and they had wone the case to take possesion of all his goods and property in the netherlands. he at that time was proberly at Manchester City ore in Tunisia. But Dutch media put it in a way that he went bankrupt and have no money, they also had writen when he came to Ajax that he even had not shoes to play football. (his suitcase was lost)
So it was described as that in Tunisia they play football in a stadium filt with sand.

Hey don’t shoot the messenger, thats what i read, obviously he had shoes to play with he wasnt poor or anything, but i know what you mean it also appeared to me as if they where trying to portray him as a newbie or amateur when he came to Ajax & that Ajax made him the player he became.

haha it’s the best translation i could find for “un divorce a l’amiable.” does sound funny though. and yes, somehow he remains our most successful coach. my prediction that he would do well with Morocco initially only to fail later was way off. His finest moment was Morocco’s goalless home draw in a friendly versus the Czech Republic and the Atlas Lions are one more setback from being definitively out of the race for the World cup…

At least Morocco payed the rest of his contract to sack him, because Lemerre’s contract with Morocco had the same clause which kept us from sacking him and we were stuck with him from 2006 till the end of his contract in 2008.

Amine Chermiti assisted and scored in Hertha’s 5-3 win over Union Berlin in a friendly. Good interception on their fourth goal and has a well taken header on their fifth. Glad to see that he seems to be back in form after that Nigeria game came a little soon for him. Hope he gets to start this season.

Nice find Rami, really hope he is feeling comfortable at hertha now, first i was yelling out he should be loaned out, but now i take back those words.
I now also think they have something planned for him, i think our(and mostly his) patience will be awarded.

Also depor is playing they’re first match of the pre- season soon, i hope Lassad has been preparing well in terms of physicality improvements.

Abdullah, thanks for the links man. I’ll check them out. I wrote about Ragued for goal and on the WCB facebook page. Sorry for the lack of activity recently. I’m working my tail off at my job and will be without internet access from Thursday to Sunday of this week. If there’s anything big to post about before then I’ll do so and hopefully when I’m back things will pick up again.
