Carthage Eaglets Back in Action
Our junior national team members have been called upon to represent Tunisia at a tournament in Casablanca organized by the North African Football Union (UNAF) beginning June 3rd to the 15th. The other countries present will be Algeria, Libya, Egypt, and Morocco. Not sure if we’ll get to watch any of these games but our team includes some of those famous Borj Sedria boys who put in eye catching performances in the U17 World Cup this past summer.
Too bad Youssef Msakni is in the UAE hiding from Stade Tunisien. He was one of the revelations of that tournament and he disappeared right after without alerting his club. Apparently he’s waiting for six months to elapse so that he can go home and sign with EST before next season without Stade Tunisien being compensated. Does that strike anyone else as selfish? ST Officials have threatened to bring this matter to FIFA’s attention…
In any case here’s the list of players called up by Mondher Kbaier:
Espérance ST: Sadok Karoui, Arbi Sadok, Mohamed Ben Hamouda, Mohamed Ben Azzouz, Khaled Ayari, Habib Tounsi
Club Africain: Slim Marzouki, Mejdi Makhzoumi, Seifeddine Akremi, Bilel Ifaa, Nour Hadria, Atef Dkhil
ES Sahel: Adnene Raddaoui, Maher Jaballah, Aymen Abdennour, Slim Jdaied, Mosaab Sassi
CA Bizertin: Farouk Ben Mustapha, Wajdi Jabari
JS Kairouan: Hamza Tlili, Sabri Louniss
AS Marsa: Bilel Ben Messaoud
CS Korba: Radhouane Baghdadi
EGSGafsa: Amir Omrani
The big names in the list are undoubtedly Khaled Ayari, Bilel Ifa, Nour Hadhria, and Mosaab Sassi. Ayari has been compared to a young Zied Jaziri. After seeing him draw a couple penalties in South Korea last summer I know why. Bilel Ifa was voted man of the match by Club Africain fans following the return leg of the Champions league versus a very phyiscal Enyimba team. Nour has yet to really break into the CA squad but is on the verge of doing so and Mosaab Sassi is already scoring goals in Sousse thanks to Marchand’s policy of integrating youth into Etoile’s lineup. Anyone else you’re excited about?

Adnéne “Daina” Raddaoui, and not Adnene Radhouane as listed in the article, is the most exciting prospect in central midfield, his play is really mature and has great vista.
I would like to see Wajdi Jabbari get his chance with the team, he scored a goal a month ago vs EST, making him the most young scorer in Tunisia’s history (he’s born on 25/07/1991).
Tomorrow Tunisia play Burkina Fasso in Rades, and i’m going!

Thanks Achraf, I’ll definitely be following the senior national team in it’s quest to qualify for the upcoming CAN/World Cup. Its starts tomorrow with Burkina Faso in Rades at 19:10 Tunis Time as you already know.
Yassine, thank you very much for the correction. I made the change in the article. I don’t know this player but hopefully Dimanche Sport will cover the performances of our Junior national team so that I can learn more about him and the other kids I don’t know too well. I’m very jealous that you are going to see the Burkina Faso game but also very happy for you. Glad to hear they’ll have some well informed support! Try to bring as many people with you as possible. After seeing Rades so full for CA’s title game, it’s gonna be a little sad to see it empty. Inshallah there will be respectable numbers present to give the Carthage Eagles the support they deserve.

Don’t worry Rami I think there will be good support. We just finished our school year yesterday and almost everyone I know is going. We could we even go on foot, Rades isn’t far from Boumhel.
How are you going to follow the match?

I’m watching it on Sopcast right now Yassine. Hope you’re having fun! I know some friends who made it too.
