Busted Thigh Sidelines Coelho for 6 to 8 Weeks!

October 30th, 2008 | By: Rami | 43 Comments »

Before you say anything. I know. Something is terribly wrong with that title. Don’t worry, nothing happened to our coach. He didn’t trip getting off the airplane back from Zurich nor did he sprain his thigh getting out of or into the shower in his Gammarth beach house. No, that’s not what happened (but if it did I wouldn’t even be surprised).

Substitute Fahid Ben Khalfallah with Coelho and you have the latest player being admitted to the metaphysical Carthage Eagles hospital ward. It’s gotten to the point where I don’t even know how to write originally about these injuries anymore. I’ve been reduced to incessant whining (something I mastered as a child, just ask my mother). I could write something angry in all caps like WTF IS GOING ON! But that wouldn’t be funny. Seriously, the situation isn’t funny. Don’t laugh! It’s not funny!

Actually laugh, it’s healthy and it might make you feel better.

The part that is hardest to fathom is that the injury bug targets our most talented players without fail. Santos before the world cup when we needed him most, Chikhaoui after the African cup where he drew rave reviews, Chermiti right before he faces mighty Bayern Munich, Mouihbi when we’re in need of strikers versus France and now Ben Khalfallah before Holland… Don’t get me started on Namouchi, that guys been out so many times that Lorient might just consider building him his very own clinic!

So let me try to break the news to you in the most therapeutic way possible (fans of Robin Hood Men in Tights should be familiar with this method - video embedded below):

Ben Khalfallah is out for six to eight weeks hahahahahah! That means he won’t be able to play against Holland hahahahahhaha! We’re gonna play the Oranje without the guy that is arguably our most in form player lol! And not only that, but he hasn’t even had an MRI yet, which means the injury could keep him out even longer hahahahahahahahahah! OMG, I’m running out of breath. One sec, one sec. BWAAHAHAHAhAhAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! Isn’t that hilarious LMAO? I mean don’t you just want to bust out in a joyous cacophony of giggles just thinking about it ROFL?”

You don’t?

oh ok thank you abdullah. This was the continuing pain he had on his groin from when Kasraoui injured him during that rediculous burkina fason game in Tunis. I remember kasraoui falling on haggui and haggui had to leave.

today in la press there was an interview with coelho. the interviwer asked him about some young players who he was looking at and he gave names that i would expect to hear like msakni, ifa, mosrati, but he also mentioned someone named messadi. the interviewer also mentioned this player in his question which means he must be pretty good. does anyone know who he is or where he plays?

Hey Thamer, he plays for CA and his nickname is ibrahimovich. Great dribbler with lots of technique. U’ll be seeing more of him with mouihbi out.

I think that Saif Ghzal might have gotten injured after playing only 26 minutes against FC Zurich and got subbed out. Hopefully everything is good with him

Thamer, he used to play for their reserves but now has a pro contract with them. They recruited him from Tazarka when he was in their youth system and he plays at offensive midfield and striker. His former coach gave him the nickname Ibrahimovich and it stuck because he has a similar build and his touch is reminiscent of the tall Swede. He’s been voted best player for CA in a number of their matches this year and when he isn’t first he ranked quite high. The only problem with him I see so far is that he’s not clinical in front of goal even though he causes danger more often than not. He’s young though so there’s always room for improvement. I’m honestly not sure on his exact age but I’d be surprised if its more than 20. There’s another kid on CA that I know from reputation but can’t remember his first name. His last name is Jendoubi and its another striker who is lighting it up for their Junior squad.

Still haven’t heard any more about the injury to Seif Ghezal.

Even if ben freg is injured, Coelho said that he will not call him up against Benin because of the way he acted against france. BTW does anyone know when the preliminary roster will be announced?

At least it seems like Coelho is taking things seriously, and doing exactly what he said in the first interview, very disciplinary.

lol Thamer. I hope you don’t have any powers of foresight that you don’t even know about. Didn’t you dream we lost 5 zero to someone once? Thankfully last time you dreamt that I’m pretty sure we won or tied (Burundi or Burkina I can’t remember)… So whatever you do don’t dream that we win ;)

Achraf, the preliminary list comes out on Wednesday. http://www.infosfoot.net/fr/articles/article.php?id_article=1045

We’ll definitely be calling up Allagui and there’s a high possibility we give Saihi from Montpellier a call up too. I wonder if Coelho will bring in Ifa, Hadhria, or Bejaoui as well. Seems a good time to give the youth a chance with everyone out injured. Maybe Chammam will be healthy by then too…

Balbouli

Boussaidi Felhi Jemal Mikari

Nafkha Ben Yahia

Belaid Jemaa

Allagui ??? Ben saada?

btw, rami. i found another example of a website quoting you. (in case you didnt already know about this.)http://www.kickoffnigeria.com/static/news/article.php?id=2879

Seems like the nigerians on that site are certain of the fact that they will top the group and qualify on our costs.
