The world cup today

June 12th, 2006 | By: Bessam | No Comments »

I have watched 6 matches in 2 days. I noticed that it is really a clean world cup compared to others in my past memory. Not that much diving or overdramatization of injury. Also the teams that are down are playing with a lot of heart. One theme is good teams are scoring early but [...]

Injuries, recoveries, and solutions

June 11th, 2006 | By: Bessam | 4 Comments »

All of us are concerned about the Injury to Francuiledo Dos Santos’ shin. Doctors confirmed today that he is recovering well and should be healthy in time for the second match against Spain. I think if this is indeed true and Tunisia play without him and still defeat Saudi Arabia, that will make the team [...]

Why Tunisia should still be positive

June 9th, 2006 | By: Bessam | 5 Comments »

Yes Dos Santos may not be available for at least one game. However, Dos Santos is Tunisia’s Wayne Rooney, he is not Tunisia’s Shevchenko. What I mean by that is Rooney for england is one of 8 players that are basically as valuable as him. Shevchenko is all you hear about in [...]

June 7th, 2006 | By: Bessam | No Comments »

It is always tragic when a players world cup dreams are dashed. Hopefully there will be more opportunities in the future for Issam Jomaa. He had a scan which showed damage to his knee and he was ruled out of Germany 2006 . In his place Tunisia have called uppon Chouki [...]

During Tunisias 4-0 victory over a select German side striker Francuiledo Dos Santos was taken off in the 25th minute clutching the back of his knee. According to coach Lemerre : “It’s only a small injury which he’s had for about a fortnight.”
He will be examined however on Thursday. I seriously hope [...]

Jemmali, Trabelsi, or both??

June 6th, 2006 | By: Bessam | 2 Comments »

Its always great when you have two great players in one position. Is there a way however to use them both at the same time.
This is the problem as well as the blessing of the Tunisian team.
We have David Jemmali, who is voted the best right back in the French League I by [...]

We might as well play with ourselves!!

June 6th, 2006 | By: Bessam | 3 Comments »

Sorry, that title may not have been in the best taste. But I am a bit pissed off that Yet ANOTHER friendly has been canceled. Tunisia will NOT be playing New Zealand tommorrow night as a final warm up to the World cup games. So this is what? … the 5th team that canceled [...]

Can Tunisia Defeat Uruguay ?

May 30th, 2006 | By: Bessam | 2 Comments »

Uraguay is quite an opponent for the LG cup final in Tunisia. They are ranked 22, while Tunisia is ranked 21 in FIFAs rock solid ranking system
They just barely missed out on going to the world cup because they lost in a playoff with Australia by penalalties, so Australia is going instead.
It [...]
